To add to the confusion, I saw a table from a non-Microsoft blog showing that "Microsoft 365" E3 included MFA but "Office 365" E1 and E3 do not. It doesn't mention specifically E1 or E3 anywhere on this page however. In the feature table it shows “Protect non-admin accounts with MFA” in the “Multi-Factor Authentication for Office 365” column. The following MS page states that the free version of Azure MFA included with Office 365 includes the ability to apply MFA to administrators and standard users. For example, it is not mentioned in their planning for MFA guide: However, I cannot find any official Microsoft statement confirming the absence of MFA in Office 365 Enterprise E1. Rather, I am referring to the basic MFA included with Office 365. I am not talking about Azure MFA which includes conditional access. I have seen various internet posts stating that Office 365 E1 may not include MFA.
